Freehold: Permanent ownership. No renewal needed. Higher value, preferred by buyers and banks.

Leasehold: 60, 99 or 999-year lease from state government. Must be renewed — renewal fee can be significant. Banks may lend less on leases under 30 years remaining.

Land Categories (Express Condition): Agriculture, Building, or Industry. You cannot build a factory on agricultural land without converting it first.

Malay Reserve Land: Can only be owned by Malay persons/companies. Cannot be transferred to non-Malay. Check this before purchasing.

Individual Title vs Master Title: Individual title = subdivided, directly in your name. Master title = parent lot, individual parcels not yet subdivided. Be cautious with master title purchases.
